Applied Psychomotricity/Adapted Physical Activity

Course contents:

- Introduction to applied psychomotricity

- Psychomotor activities for specific target groups (children with ADHD, hyperactivity, learning disorders, people with hearing and visual impairment, physical disabilities, seniors)

 

After finishing this course students will be able to:

- understand the possibilities of using psychomotor activities and games for people with special needs

- use psychomotor activities and games in physical activity courses and programmes / PE, leisure-time activities, including managing the integrated persons in common groups/

- form a lesson plan of adapted physical activities with psychomotor features, juggling, etc. and to adapt it according to specific needs of the particular target group

Anthropometric characteristics and nutritional profile of athletes

Teacher: Ing. Iva Hrnčiříková, Ph.D.

Students will learn the main principles of human nutrition. The purpose of this course is to show the evaluation of different methods of human body composition. Subsequently, the data will be evaluated and interpreted (also we will take into account the specifics groups of athletes f.e. women, children and master´s athletes with mental diseases. Students will also learn to orientate in the preparation of a nutritional plan for specific groups of athletes and individuals.


Applied kinesiotherapy as prevention & Physiological aspects of the musculoskeletal system in muscle performance

Teacher: Mgr. Dagmar Moc Králová, PhD.

The main objective of this course is to acquire the ability to analyze the physiological parameters during the performance of the top athlete taking into account the specifics of individual sports disciplines. Furthermore, the student should acquire the skill to react promptly in case of insufficient parameters and to work with the physiotherapist to modify the technique within the preventive programs.

Training Principles: The Science behind improving athletic performance

Teacher: Mgr. Tomáš Kalina

 

The main aim of this part is to use exercise prescription specifically to improve performance in athletic competition. Not only training improve performance; it also shows that that incorrect training can cause decrements to performance. A well-designed strength and conditioning programme can increase the athletes’ tolerance to training. For this reason, students will try the right exercises in the gym and also in the athletic field.


Translating sports nutrition science into practice

Teacher: Mgr. Michal Kumstát, Ph.D.

The course will introduce the field of sports nutrition science. The course will present some of the nutritional strategies that not only attracted athletes but are currently of great scientific interest. Students will learn how to work with the current recommendation and how to apply them to real sports practice.

Dietary supplements in sports nutrition

Teacher: Mgr. Michal Kumstát, Ph.D.

The aim of the course is to define the role of dietary supplements in human nutrition; the course is focused on nutritional supplements useful in the athlete’s population. Students will learn how to translate the theoretical knowledge into practice, by working with real supplement examples. Students will be able to work with the acquired information on nutritional supplements and acquire the professional competence of selected supplements to apply the knowledge in practice.

Climbing gym - indoor training

Teacher: Mgr. Jan Jurečka

Students will learn to belay their partners and practice the basic climbing techniques on the artificial wall. Perfect preparation for the upcoming trip and climbing natural rock.


Hike to Veveří castle, stand-up paddleboarding

Outdoor activities field trip

Teacher: Mgr. Jan Jurečka

During the three days in the Czech countryside, students will experience various outdoor activities such as hiking and rock climbing. Students will learn the necessary preparation and safety rules for roaming in nature, planning and navigating the trips, and basic survival skills.

Via interactive activities, students learn social psychology, team skills, and experiential learning - crucial starting points for effective leadership and motivation of the team or individuals.

Recovery for performance in sport

Teacher: Mgr. Ivan Struhár, Ph.D.

The aim of the course is to point out the relationship between the training and recovery process. We are convinced that a successful training programme should progressively increase the training load with adequate recovery. Recovery should be integrated into the sports training as the important parts with the aim to avoid non-functional overreaching. Students learn to integrate recovery techniques to real sports training.


Basic techniques of sports massage

 

Teacher: Mgr. Ivan Struhár, Ph.D.

 

Students will learn to apply massage therapy specifically for sport and rehabilitation as you learn to integrate techniques and mind/body concepts. Students will learn on how to conduct massage techniques such as Basics of Palpation, Effleurage/Stroking, Petrissage/Kneading, Friction (circular, transverse), Tapotement/Percussion, Vibration and Various other forms – some may combine strokes.

Participants will also learn the indications/contraindications and the appropriate application of these approaches for various conditions. Additionally, this course provides students with an understanding of basic medical terminology and the relationship between anatomy/physiology and the practice of sports massage.

Assessment of human walking

Teacher: Mgr. Marta Gimunová, Ph.D.

The aim of this course is to introduce the gait analysis and different methods used to capture the walking pattern. Students will try different methods of foot arch index assessment and gait analysis and their interpretation. Gait in different groups (elderly, intellectual disabilities, toddlers, alcohol intoxication), its specifics and association to the risk of fall will be discussed. After finishing this course students will be able to understand the gait pattern and assess the factors affecting it.
